Baltimore County leads in the share of Retail jobs in Maryland While Montgomery County leads the state in Accommodations and Restaurants Employment.

ANNAPOLIS, Md)—Baltimore County leads in the share of retail employment with 16.0 percent of the Retail jobs in Maryland.  Montgomery County followed with 15.9% and Prince George’s County with 12.9%.  Among hotels and motels and restaurants and eating establishments (Accommodations and Food Services), Montgomery County led the Maryland counties with 14.6 percent.  Anne Arundel County followed with 13.5 percent and Baltimore County had 12.5 percent.  Princes George’s County had 11.4 percent.  Retail and accommodations and restaurants tend to follow the population concentration in Maryland.  Where there is a high population count there is a higher percentage of business providing those services.
